Hi Heather, tell us a little bit about yourself!
I’m an Artist, YouTuber, and Wife and Mom to an amazing husband and three incredibly smart and wonderful girls. As much as I love creating art, I spend most of my time homeschooling my two youngest daughters, which I enjoy quite a lot! We enjoy our days off hiking, fishing, creating art or just exploring new wildernesses.

How long have you been creating acrylic pour art? What inspired you to become an artist?
I have been creating acrylic pours since August 2017. I have been creating art since I was a young kid, always hiding in my room to draw. I graduated from University of Georgia with an Art Degree but never pursued it as a career. Actually, it was my husband who convinced me to pick up my pencils and brushes again because he believed more in my talent than I did.

What does art mean to you?
Art is an escape. It’s also a misery. It tugs at my soul and haunts my sleep. Art, or rather the creation of art, is a mystery, an illusion, another world to hide in.

Which type of pour do you enjoy creating the most?
I love ring pours the most, the ebb and flow of so many colorful lines, one into another, intermingling and yet at the same time keeping to themselves to create something so harmonious and inviting.

What is your favorite GenCrafts Acrylic pouring paint set to use?
The metallic pouring paint set is my favorite. The bright, shimmery colors can make any painting come to life!

What advice do you have for beginner artists?
Make sure you are creating for yourself and that it makes you happy. Believe in yourself. Have patience. Experiment often.

Overall, what is your favorite part about the creative process?
The knowledge that whatever the idea, it is never wrong. It may be good, it may be terrible, but it is never wrong.

Tell us an interesting fact about your art!
I only create from ideas that keep me awake at night.

What has been your greatest accomplishment thus far, being an artist?
My children are already more accomplished and talented artists than I am.
